I've been working on a fun little TTRPG campaign set in Hell for a while now. It's feeling pretty good at the moment, heavily inspired by Morkborg, Warhammer Fantasy, death metal album covers, black metal album covers, and more stuff besides.

Checklist

Compile into a "book"
I really like PDF based TTRPG rule books, such as anything by the wonderful Tom Bloom (https://tombloom.itch.io/games-for-freaks), and so as part of this project I wanted to challenge myself to assemble the whole campaign into a little book with some write-ups and art. This will also make it easier for me to steal bits and pieces of other systems, like Morkborg, without having to say to my party "ok well this mechanic is like in this book here which you don't own", instead I can say "look at page 3 of the compendium" or whatever I decide to call it. I think this is going to be fun.
Transcribe Morkborg rules
I really like the simplicity and philosophy of Morkborg for playing an RPG, especially one that is the sort of tongue-in-cheek grimdark that I want to play. But at the same time I don't want all of Morkborg's aesthetics and such, I'm rather picky about that and want to make it a bit more "my own", so for that reason I'm going to reappropriate (steal) their rules into my campaign.
Create statblocks for monsters and enemies
This will probably be hard, as everything I've heard from my DM friends is that nothing ever goes the way you plan, and encounters can feel too "easy" for the players. Furthermore, I'm going to have to research what sort of statblocks Morkborg type monsters have.
Figure out the "story"
This isn't going to be a discrete task really, more so a feeling out of ideas and assembling references I think. I want to develop a narrative that the characters are part of, and move forward, but aren't necessarily the main characters of, a la Dark Souls. Going to have to look through old notes and stuff to develop this.
